Es handelt sich um ein Lehrbuch für erwachsene Zeichen-Anfänger. Man erkennt, dass der Autor pädagogische Berufs-Erfahrung besitzt (siehe Vita von Jake Spicer). Der Text ist knapp, aber sehr gehaltvoll, wörtliches Ãœbersetzen ist ratsam. Trotz der Leerseiten zum Ãœben bekommt man viel Lernstoff geboten. Zu Beginn wird mit Bleistift gezeichnet, im weiteren Verlauf dann auch mit Kohle und Tusche. Die Buchseiten bestehen aus hochwertigem dicken Papier, so dass Radieren problemlos möglich ist.Nach Ãœberwindung der ersten Scheu kommt man schnell zum Erfolg. Ein Skizzenbuch oder einen Skizzenblock sollte man gleich mit bestellen. Das wird vom Autor empfohlen, um die Ãœbungen zu wiederholen, bis man zufrieden ist. Die eigenen Fortschritte und Entwürfe später nachzuschlagen, macht Spaß! Zwei weitere Bücher des Autors im selben Format sind bereits angekündigt. Dort sollen die Themen Gesichter-Zeichnen und Buntstift-Zeichnen behandelt werden.

Great book that has certainly helped me along with my drawing skills. It's step by step so you don't get discouraged. Liked it so much I sent one to a friend as a gift.

This book is a fantastic way to learn to sketch. I am using it for both of my children and we are enjoying it so much. It is like art class but you can work at your own pace.
